Strength of the collective: Chris on the key role of mutual trust

Business transformation, data-driven approaches, software development, integration. Bring together over 25 companies, each specializing in a unique area, and you have the Conclusion ecosystem. Our 3,000-plus employees, working as one in this connected ecosystem, support more than 500 customers every day while our experts join forces to tackle complex issues, producing objective advice and practical solutions. Our ecosystem’s power is its collective strengthit lets us take on any challenge. But how do companies manage to connect and work together in this expanse? Conclusion asked colleagues to explain how they regularly collaborate with others in the ecosystem. Chris Geertsma, Operations Manager at Conclusion Virtual Sciences, believes the key is mutual trust and lots of goodwill: two ingredients that enable Conclusion to deliver excellent customer service and best-of-breed solutions.

Goodwill and mutual trust

All expert companies in Conclusion’s ecosystem are independent and liable for their own finances. So, how is working with ecosystem companies any different from collaborating with other companies in the market? Chris believes the key lies in the huge amount of goodwill in the ecosystem. ‘The ecosystem isn’t meant to be a competitive market,’ he explains. ‘Of course, companies sometimes offer more or less the same service, but that’s never an issue because people trust and respect one another. There are no barriers to communication. Board members, developers, and anyone else is free to reach out to one another. That level of trust grows the more we know each other, which feeds into constant improvements in our customer service.’

Next-level customer support

Chris sees how that goodwill fosters collaboration. ‘We’re not competitors; we’re professionals on an equal footing. We know each other and trust each other’s expertise. I’ve had several opportunities to work with various companies on issues like tenders or advisory and consultancy processes. Each time, I’ve witnessed first-hand how our approach works. It all sounds very fancy, but it leads to real-life success stories.’

Solidarity within the ecosystem delivers value to customers. ‘We collaborate with various companies in a single, coordinated approach,’ explains Chris. ‘Working with ten suppliers on one project tests everyone’s organizational skills, but we manage the process and coordinate with one another. Any disagreements between suppliers, which are rare, are quickly resolved within the Conclusion ecosystem. This all means the customer has one dedicated contact person and enjoys a smooth ride. That’s what I call next-level customer support.’

The goodwill we show toward each other underpins best-of-breed solutions for customers

Best-of-breed solution

Chris thinks the recent Request for Proposal (RfP) neatly illustrates his point. He was involved on the Conclusion Virtual Sciences side, working together with Conclusion MBS, Conclusion Consulting, PossibilIT, and TheFactor.e (the latter two are part of 4NG Conclusion). He lights up as he speaks about it: ‘I loved watching the customer discover the power of Conclusion, something every ecosystem company is aware of. The customer could also clearly see how our ecosystem formula delivers a best-of-breed solution. That’s because each company works to their strengths and within their niche in the expansive IT landscape we’re the ecosystem’s tech-agnostic integration specialist. And since each company is responsible for its own financial viability, the customer knows we’re all committed to delivering the best possible outcome. That turned out to be a decisive factor for the customer to award the assignment to Conclusion. Getting an assignment like this is a personal as much as a business triumph, so we couldn’t help but celebrate! I’m fully aware that the Conclusion ecosystem enables companies to take on assignments that they couldn’t do alone, which is absolutely fantastic. It also cultivates trust in the market, especially among large and complex organizations who see that Conclusion can support their digital transformation.’

Lead the change

LEAD THE CHANGE

As digital developments evolve at warp speed, how do you maintain control? Because those who do not adapt, do not survive. The art of digital transformation is to lead the change, before change leads you.
