Conclusion Sport: connection through movement

How can you truly connect all 2,500 colleagues from our ecosystem of 25+ Conclusion companies? For Djill, the answer is crystal clear: by playing sports together! For a year now, she has been the driving force behind Conclusion Sport. She organizes a different sports event every month that all colleagues can sign up for. And with success!

Djill, scrum master at Conclusion Enablement, has made a huge effort to get Conclusion Sport off the ground. Djill says: "It is great that we have been given the freedom to develop this from the management. The various sports activities bring together employees from different companies. By playing sports together, you get to know each other in an informal way."

Meanwhile, the sports activities that Djill organizes are so popular that they are almost always full. Registration for the last padel event was fully booked within two hours. Djill: "We therefore decided to organize an extra padel tournament. And that extra tournament is already full. That means almost 100 people in two days on the padel court!"

We are always trying to innovate. In addition to the usual sports, we also offer other sports, such as fencing or Lacrosse.

Djill: "We are always trying to innovate. In addition to the usual sports, we also offer other sports. In June, for example, we will be fencing. But Lacrosse, golf and an obscable mud run are also on the schedule. We recently even organized a boxing event with none other than Nouchka Fontijn. She was Olympic champion and gave us an exclusive boxing clinic. That was really cool!"

Sporty or not: everyone is welcome

Everyone is welcome at Conclusion Sport, regardless of your sporting background. It's about moving together , talking and getting to know other colleagues. Djill: "You see more and more different types of colleagues. At first, only the sports enthusiasts came along. Now also people in their 60s with compression stockings. How nice is that!"

At first we only saw the sports enthusiasts. Now also people in their 60s with compression stockings!

Djill: "We now have a loyal group of followers, but we also see new faces every month. With over 2,500 colleagues in the Conclusion ecosystem, we cannot reach everyone personally. That is why we encourage participants to act as sports ambassadors. We ask if they can also distribute new events through their own Conclusion company. And it works! People come to our events from all corners of the Netherlands.

Our goal is to involve as many colleagues as possible from different Conclusion companies. When dividing teams, we consciously make sure that acquaintances do not sit together, so that new connections are created. We notice that some colleagues also know how to find each other after an event. You also talk to each other about your work or company. In projects, it can come in handy if you know that a colleague from another company has a certain expertise. In this way, we not only ensure a pleasant and sporty day, but we sometimes also reap the benefits in our projects!

After each year, we evaluate what our colleagues think of the sports. We take this into account when making the planning for the following year. Last year, beach volleyball emerged as the winner. That was our very first event and that day was also super fun! The weather was lovely with a drink and barbecue at the end. In the end, I didn't leave until 10 p.m., while colleagues were still lingering."

How do you combine your own work with Conclusion Sport?

"The trick is to distribute the work well," says Djill. "Of course, it takes extra time in addition to your regular job. But it's great to see how Conclusion Sport is embraced by our company. It gives me so much energy! I don't even mind working on Sunday evenings, because I don't see it as work, but as a passion."
