A versatile role
‘As a campus recruiter, I have a wide range of duties. For example, I take care of our participation in fairs and other events and organise in-house days. I also prepare advice, for example on hiring and supervising trainees and work students. In this way, I try to create support for hiring Gen Z employees and facilitate companies in this. Furthermore, I make plans to shape and record the cooperation with colleges and study associations. For example, Conclusion offers annual projects for students of Avans University of Applied Sciences. I talk to our companies about this, so that on the one hand I know which projects are available and on the other hand I can explain to them why working with students is so interesting. Furthermore, I take on interns for Conclusion Services and supervise them as well. In this, I would like to be an example for other companies. Although they are responsible for filling their own vacancies, I do ensure a well-filled talent pool.’
The National Career Fair
‘We are at the National Career Fair once a year. Last year, we were here with five companies under the Conclusion ‘umbrella’. It gave me great satisfaction to see how colleagues from different companies worked together and that we could present ourselves as one company with many different opportunities. I also contributed to the design of the stand and the flyers, which allowed us to create an image at the fair that really suits Conclusion. When it comes to raising awareness of the possibilities of cooperation in the field of campus recruitment, we have already achieved great things. At the same time, there are still plenty of challenges in the period ahead.’
Gen Z
‘I love working with young people (Gen Z'ers). I really believe that as a recruiter, you can make a difference by helping someone find an important internship or first job. In addition, I see many advantages in working with Gen Z'ers for Conclusion. For example, they bring recent knowledge, a fresh perspective and a critical attitude. They have also grown up with technology and have highly developed digital skills. And you notice this in the workplace. Other generations can learn a lot from their knowledge and dexterity in this field. Working with Gen Z'ers also keeps us up-to-date as a company and allows us to make positive changes. However, many Gen Z'ers do suffer from imposter syndrome; they doubt whether they are good enough for their job. By guiding and supporting them in developing the right soft skills, we can fully empower them.’
