Daan's top five reasons to do an internship at Conclusion

First things first: Why do you choose an internship over an adventure abroad? Daan: "I wanted to experience in practice what I learned in theory. A deliberate choice. As an innovative IT company, Conclusion is an extension of my studies. The multifaceted nature of the Conclusion ecosystem also appealed to me. My thought: with so much diversity in the company, I always find my place. And let's be honest, Utrecht comes pretty close to abroad for a boy from Lemele." 

Fortunately, we were able to offer him that versatility. His internship supervisor Maarten says: "I was actually looking for a journalism student, with a focus on writing and editing texts. We discovered in no time that this doesn't make Daan's heart beat faster. If it were up to him, A.I. would take over any form of text creation. But what is it? Because of his entrepreneurial attitude, he easily joined our digital team, where he enjoyed helping to optimize the digital channels. He has also researched our social media strategy. We are now putting his recommendations into practice." 

Daan's top five reasons to do an internship at Conclusion

1. Good working atmosphere and pleasant mutual contact 

"I experienced a great working atmosphere, and the mutual contact in the team was also nice. From the moment I entered, I immediately felt included in the warm environment that prevails here. The work therefore never felt like an obligation. The healthy dose of humor in the team also helped."

2. Room for personal input and creativity 

"During my internship, I was given the opportunity to develop my creativity and give my twist to the assignments. These were conceived in co-creation with me. This meant that together with my internship supervisors Maarten and Jacqueline, I was able to brainstorm about projects that best suited my interests and skills. I gained the confidence to think outside the box and explore new approaches." 

3. You can be who you are 

"Conclusion's motto is 'there must be difference'. In expertise, but especially in personalities. The idea behind this is that unique combinations of people create solutions that are different from others. In my experience, this is really true. The company consists of a vibrant mix of characters. And you come across them all during the fun monthly get-togethers." 

4. Internship days for a good start to your internship period 

"The internship days provide insight into how the Conclusion ecosystem of more than 25 companies is organized. I also got to know other interns there. We all had an 'ask me anything' lunch session with CEO Engbert Verkoren. But the real hits were the two escape rooms, including one with VR glasses. Very cool." 

5. What's next: I discovered my next step 

"This internship period helped me in choosing my further education. I was inspired by the colleagues from the digital team. After studying Communication Science, I want to do a master's degree in digital marketing and design at the University of Twente."
