The Code of Conduct, our moral compass

At Conclusion, we have a 'Code of Conduct', also known as a code of behaviour. It's an important document that holds great meaning for our organization, say CEO Engbert Verkoren and corporate lawyer Niels van Tongeren. 'This is our moral compass.'

 "This document describes our core values and principles. About how we work together, how we deal with issues such as privacy, security and sustainability and how we ensure a safe working environment", says Engbert. "It also contains do's and don'ts, for instance, about how to use social media, how to submit ideas, if you think something is wrong, if there's room for improvement or if something's bothering you", Niels adds. 

Enterprising, friendly & responsible 

Engbert: "Our core values are: enterprising, friendly and responsible. All our colleagues will recognize this. Conclusion is an ecosystem of more than 25 expert companies, which means entrepreneurship is in our blood. We're on the ball, keen, have courage, see opportunities and dare to experiment. And that can be done in a warm, polite manner. That's what sets us apart. We prove that being objective and enterprising doesn't have to be impersonal. Not cold and aloof, which you sometimes see in corporate organizations. We're transparent towards each other, we also express a less pleasant message, but in a warm and understanding manner. This also applies to messages for external parties. Our decentralized structure means we're close to customers, partners, the labour market and social developments. This entails responsibilities and we assume them. Responsible entrepreneurship and action are in our DNA and that is why 'responsible' is our third core value."

Sustainable and social, in a safe environment 

"Look at our customers. Whether it is a supermarket chain, an energy company or a healthcare organization: we feel responsible, because we have an impact on their results. We do our work in a responsible manner, we work increasingly sustainably and we also want to act responsibly from a social perspective. For instance, we recently contributed to an initiative that helps asylum permit holders to retrain for a job in IT: World cITizens @ Work. Of course, responsible working is only possible in an environment that offers safety, where people feel at home. Our code of conduct also covers this." 

Core Principles 

Niels: "The core values come first, the lines along which we express them are our core principles. The core principles are about reliability, integrity, loyalty and transparency. Compliance is also very important. Everything we do must always adhere to all laws and regulations.

Ethical conduct 

Engbert: "At Conclusion, we work according to these principles, which are essentially about being honest and acting ethically. We encourage honesty with colleagues, customers, partners, society, and shareholders. Niels: "We ask our people to speak up if something doesn't feel right. You can discuss this with a supervisor, manager or one of our confidential advisors. Our Code of Conduct puts our slogan Business done differently into words. "

This way, we remain at the forefront and that is crucial in our sector."
